How to Reach

Air

IIM Ahmedabad is located around 17 Km away from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. It is the busiest airport in Gujarat, and the seventh busiest in India with an average of 250 aircraft movements a day. It serves both domestic and international flights to and from Ahmedabad. The airport connects the city with destinations across India as well as across major cities in the world. A new international terminal has been built to handle increased international air traffic.

Rail

IIM Ahmedabad is located around 10 Km away from Ahmedabad main railway station. Ahmedabad Railway Station (ADI), locally known as Kalupur Railway Station, is one of the busiest stations in the country. Railway lines connect the city to all towns in Gujarat and to other major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Indore, Bhopal, Lucknow, Jaipur, Jabalpur, Raipur, Hyderabad, Nagpur etc.

Road

National Highway 8, linking Delhi to Mumbai, passes though Ahmedabad connecting it with Gandhinagar, Delhi and Mumbai. The National Highway 8C links Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar. Ahmedabad BRTS is a Bus Rapid Transit System for the city, maintained by the Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL). The BRTS is modeled on international standards and is proved to be highly affordable and effective in operation. It has revolutionized the system of public transport in the city. The buses are comfortable and technically advanced. The system has dedicated corridors running along the middle of the city roads in which no other vehicles are allowed, enabling a quick ride to different parts of the city.

How to reach IIMA

For reaching IIMA, on landing in the city ask the taxi/auto rickshaw for Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Vastrapur. The Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service operates buses throughout the city. Taxis are available near the railway station and the airport and the tariff varies according to distance. Metered auto rickshaws ply day and night and provide an alternative mode of transport.
