Dissertation TitleVariations in the Use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Role of Socio-cultural Aspects

In this work I am using OB/GYN outpatient consulting as empirical site for examining EMR use in practice. I hope to generate theoretical insights around gendered values integrated in healthcare, health technology and its use. I see potential for examining current practices (involving doctors, patients, and EMR) in ways that may reveal paths to alternative and more empathetic health technologies design and use. I have identified case study as a suitable research strategy and principles of grounded theory methods are applied while analysing data.

Academic Projects (PhD)

Unique Identification of India: Aadhaar

This was an evaluation of UK’s identity card scheme vis-à-vis India's identity project ‘Aadhaar'. As part of this study, I also worked on a framework for studying nationwide identity management systems. The framework developed draws on systemic thinking, and hence lends itself to quantitative modelling.

Impact of Internet use among School Children in India

The purpose of this research was to understand learning strategies in the online environment by children in age group 12-15 years and their perception towards benefits they derive because of the Internet use. Proposed new scale by modifying items of Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) for online learning environments.
