The ambitious Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations can only be reached if there is sufficient growth in world incomes to support them. And sufficient growth is dependent upon having quality schools. While most people would agree that quality education is important, most also tend to underestimate the economic value of improved quality of schools. This lecture provides direct estimates of the school-quality link along with a discussion of how school quality can be improved.
